NDAL’s 2019 conference — our 30th annual

We’re proud to announce the program for NDAL’s 2019 conference, our 30th annual two-day symposium.

When NDAL’s first symposium occurred in 1990, native plants were largely an afterthought in the landscape professions.  The changes since then have been astounding, and NDAL is proud to have played a part.  While “ecology into design” has and will remain NDAL’s focus, we have increasingly understood that a “real world ecology” must always consider the influences of people past and present.

Our 30th anniversary program will illustrate how an expanded definition of “ecological design”–including contributions from garden history, agroecology, anthropology, social justice, art, and of course the ecological sciences–can yield environmentally sound, yet culturally connected landscapes.

View the 2019 conference brochure.  Speakers include Kofi Boone, William Cullina, Rick Darke, John Swallow, Larry Weaner, Thomas Woltz, Tama Matsuoka Wong, and others.

NDAL’s 2019 conference is scheduled for:

Jan. 10-11, 2019 | Montgomery County Community College, Blue Bell, PA.  Co-sponsored by Morris Arboretum of the Univ. of Pennsylvania.  Register

Jan. 17-18, 2019 | Connecticut College, New London, CT.  Co-sponsored by Connecticut College Arboretum.  Register

As in years prior, our 2019 symposium will offer attendees CEUs from various organizations. We have provided CEU summary sheets below. We will be continuing to update them as more credits become approved.
