Larry Weaner, President Larry Weaner has been practicing professional landscape design since 1977. He founded Larry Weaner Landscape Design Associates Inc. in 1982, a firm that has earned a national reputation for its work combining the environmental sciences and garden design. His projects have spanned more than 10 states, have been featured in national and international publications. More ... Ian Caton, Research Coordinator Ian Caton holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Environmental Design from Delaware Valley College. He acquired an extensive knowledge of native plants through his educational and work experience as well as dedicated lifelong study and observation. Ian has also worked with local governments on the development of landscape plans for public spaces. He has a longstanding relationship with Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve in Washington’s Crossing, Pennsylvania, where he is involved in lectures, hands-on training and volunteer projects. His professional affiliations include the Pennsylvania Native Plant Society (PNPS), and he is on the Education Committee as well as the Property Committee of the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve. Lauren Steele, Development Director Lauren Steele has extensive experience in planning events and organizing courses, primarily in the medical and environmental fields. She lives and works in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia. In addition to NDAL, she is also affliated with Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust, a nonprofit land conservation organization located in Huntingdon Valley. She is co-president of Earthright, an Abington-based nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about the environment, and was one of the founding members of the Pennypack Farm CSA located on the headwaters of the Pennypack Creek in Horsham. Lauren is a graduate of Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, with a degree in Marketing Glenn D. Dreyer, NDAL Advisor A highly regarded ecologist, Glenn Dreyer has a long-standing interest incorporating ecological sciences and the horticultural arts. Since 1988 he has been Director of the Arboretum at Connecticut College. Mr. Dreyer is also an adjunct professor of botany and the executive director of the college's Goodwin-Niering Center for Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies, teaching the "Environmental Horticulture" course for the Botany Department. He is also the author of the book Connecticut's Notable Trees. |
